This client, who had Howarth Kitchens recommended to her by a neighbour, came to the Mansfield branch with the intention of having her small and conventional kitchen turned into a completely new and modern space. The process was thorough, covering 8 months of meticulous planning and design, ensuring that the client was never rushed and instead guided to make the best selections for her needs.
The kitchen’s layout is both visually beautiful and incredibly practical. Symphony provided the stylish kitchen units and backsplash, while Internation Decorative Surfaces supplied the durable countertop and upstand.Â
Hafele’s under-cabinet lights provide a cosy atmosphere that compliments the NEFF oven, induction cooktop, and microwave. A Prima built-in extractor, wash basin and tap were also added within the kitchen design.Â
One of the highlights is the unique use of a glass backsplash that matches the base units, resulting in a cohesive effect. The project also involved clever methods to work around existing pipes surrounding the boiler and the fuse box above the oven.
The result, achieved over 5 weeks of delivery and 2 ½ weeks of fitting, demonstrates the amazing ability of two-tone pieces to make the room seem more spacious and welcoming.

The Before
Before the new design, the client’s kitchen was extremely warm and subdued, with oak cabinetry and a neutral colour scheme. Although conventional, it lacked light and exposure, with the window above the sink and the under-cabinet lights providing the only diffused light. As a result, the customer came to Howarth hoping to liven up her modest kitchen space, and she received precisely that.
The After
 The kitchen itself features a harmonious blend of soft green and light grey cabinetry – with shaker-style cabinets paired with sleek stainless steel handles. Likewise, the window above the sink allows plenty of natural light to flood into the space, highlighting the clean lines and contemporary layout. The client was absolutely thrilled with the finished result of their kitchen, stating that it was all they had ever wanted and more.
