A recent project from our Barnsley branch involved transforming a client’s outdated kitchen into a modern, functional space with smart storage solutions. The client needed better housing for an awkwardly placed boiler and more usable storage. During the consultation, the designer even brought door samples to their home, helping them visualize the final look.
The redesign included a pull-out larder, integrated bin unit, and ample drawer space, all of which delighted the client. A higher run of units to house their electric box and modem were also integrated, giving the kitchen a clean, streamlined appearance.
The kitchen, now featuring Symphony’s Hacienda Nordic Green doors, Bosch appliances, and a Caple granite sink with an Avel tap, feels brighter and more inviting. By replacing the problematic boiler cupboard with a bespoke L-shaped corner unit, it made access easy without removing doors or panels. The combination of solid wood and a contrasting Dekton Laurent island adds warmth and sophistication.

The Before
The previous kitchen was fairly out of date, with small appliances crowding the worktops due to a lack of efficient storage. The space appeared tiny and dull, with an awkwardly positioned, badly housed boiler. The design was ineffective, leaving the customer dissatisfied with a kitchen that did not suit their demands or visual tastes.
The After
The kitchen has been completely transformed into a modern, inviting space with smart storage solutions. The space feels brighter and more open, thanks to the use of spotlight lighting. The addition of a Dekton Laurent island and solid wood elements adds warmth and sophistication, resulting in a kitchen that perfectly blends style and functionality.

We dropped by Howarth Timber to check out their kitchen range and met Laura, who was incredibly knowledgeable. She visited our home, listened to what we wanted, and offered her ideas. After taking measurements, she provided us with the drawings a week later, which we were very pleased with. The entire process was excellent! Even though my husband fitted the kitchen, Laura kept us informed about deliveries and was always helpful, even when we needed an extra cupboard or a replacement door. She designed a custom corner cupboard that turned out perfectly. I highly recommend Laura for kitchen design.
